The last kilometres to reach the lodge were never ending. But it was so rewarding once we got there. The view on the oldest canyon of the world was breathtaking. The lodge is luxurious: pool with view, beautiful decoration, tasty food and wonderful bungalow. As we were on honeymoon, we had the bungalow with the best view, separated from the others and even champagne and snacks! It is going to be hard to leave this place...
The rest of the day, we relaxed at the swimming pool.
The following day, we left early morning to avoid the heat. After a few minutes, we saw mountain zebras! We walked 600m down to reach the bottom of the canyon. Landscapes were amazing and our guide Daniel very friendly. He taught us how to speak his language, Otjiwambo. In the afternoon, we reached a natural pool that the sun hasn’t dried yet. Even if the water is green due to copper sediments, we dived in with pleasure.
We then arrived at the comfortable camp. There were toilets, shower and even beds in the tent. Cherry on the cake, they served us a nice dinner with some wine close to fire, only for us!
Next morning, they served us buffet breakfast. Then we headed back to the lodge by car and took us 3 hours! We could enjoy the canyon views once again and even see some animals.
Thank you very much for funding this part of our honeymoon:
