New Year's Eve in Buenos Aires

Dec 31, 2018 comment(s)

After a long trip, we finally set foot in South America. Our first contact with the population was at the immigration when we were corrected on our pronunciation straight away. Here, sounds 'll' and 'y' are pronounced 'ch'.

A few people speak English, so speaking Spanish is definitely an asset.

Day1

Our Airbnb is well located, just next to the Plaza de Mayo (pronounced 'Macho'). Here took place the biggest revolutions of the country. Especially on 25th of May 1810, when the first Argentinian government was created, settling the independence with Spain.

We walked around the neighbourhood full of history and visited the Cabildo with its colonial style, the Casa Rosada and the shopping street of Florida.

Day2

Heading to la Boca's neighbourhood: the first city of Buenos Aires. Here, street art is allowed and buildings are painted with all colours. Many street artists expose their paintings. We really liked walking there and we took many pictures!

Today it's December 31st and we booked a Tango show to kick off 2019. The night was amazing. Dancers were really talented with wonderful costumes. After that, we had a lovely dinner and ended up on the dance floor with latinos songs.
