After a short night in the plane, we landed in Windhoek, Namibia’s capital. From the plane, we could see how dry the country is.
It took us 2h30 to pick our new travel partner up, the rental 4wd as the employee was so conscious about every little detail.
We arrived late at night in our first campsite, super excited to set up our rooftent.
The night has been cold but we woke up looking forward to discovering Namibia. Our first stop is at the Cheetah Conservation Fund. We booked a tour in the reserve and saw the first big animals of our trip! It was really impressive as we were pretty close. The center also breeds dogs to give to local farmers. This allows them to protect their livestock and avoid killing threatening cheetahs.
We then reached the Frans Indongo Lodge. On the way, we got lost and the trip became a safari! We saw our first wild animals: kudu, oryx, austrich.
The lodge is a real place for honeymooners: the environment is amazing and the room is spacious and well decorated. At sunset, the terrace offers incredible view on animals.
Thank you very much for funding this part of our honeymoon:
- Anne So & Charles / Patrick for the flight tickets;
- Dorothee & Olivier / Alix / Maxime & Manon / Ilyace & Helene / Chantal for the 4wd rental;
- Raphael for the Cheetah tour
